My understanding is that the FCC limit for point-to-multipoint is 36 dBm. Allowed maximum configurations are 30+6, 29+7, 28+8, etc. At least, that's what Cisco web site says. For point-to-point, Cisco web site says FCC allowed configurations are 30+6=36, 29+9=38, 28+12=40, 27+15=42, 26+18=44, etc. In other words, theoretically unlimited EIRP. Whether something like 0+94 dBm is physically possible is of course a different question... However, I don't know whether the FCC rules apply in the Philippines. I don't know whether NTC copied the FCC rules regarding EIRP in the 2.4GHz band, created its own rules, or has no rules. It would seem strange for the NTC to have copied the same rules, since the FCC rules were motivated by the band being unlicensed. There was a recent news article that said: "In the use of the 2.4 gigahertz band, ... Rio said NTC is currently implementing a free licensing scheme for users of the high bandwidth band outside Metro Manila. But in Metro Manila where the high-bandwidth frequency is being used by the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), Mr. Rio said NTC will deal with the licensing issue on a case-to-case basis. As long as its use does not interfere with Meralco, Mr. Rio said users can freely use the 2.4 GHz band for their third-generation applications." http://itmatters.com.ph/news/news_05172002a.html Anyone have more details on this "free licensing scheme"? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
