How big is the data you need to backup?  If it's < 160GB, forget tape, and
go with hardware RAID1 on ide drives.  Backup is instantaneous, just pull
out a drive, and push in a new one, the system will auto resync.  Recovery
is also easy as pie, and it's obvious!

controllers.
