and also, make sure that some backup (queue) mail exchanger is receiving
mail for the domains while you are transferring the user files, and disable
the running mail servers on the old and new servers. this prevents new mail
from coming into the old mail server and making the recently transferred
user mail files obsolete. the new incoming mail will just queue up on the
backup mail exchanger and then will move to the new mail server when
everything's ready.
