SAPdb have Oracle7 SQL syntax compatibility, aside from their extensions
to SQL92; support for Oracle backint backup tool; can be interfaced with
PHP, JDBC, Python and Perl; among other features (well, we know it's
GPL'd... though SAP only officiall supports SAPdb installations on SAPdb
solutions)

Not supported features (as of SAPdb7.3)
*Collations
*Result sets that are created within a stored procedure and fetched
outside
*Multi-version concurrency for OLTP (as it is only available with the
object extension of SAPdb)
*Hot standby

It's a big install (like Oracle, unlike MySQL and Postgresql?).

You can get it by downloading from their site or via free mail order (which
is surprisingly fast by the way).
