another utility of note is the old and depricated tool called SATAN (not SAINT, and other variants) for analyzing open and exploitable ports on a host system. i believe both (JOHN the ripper and SATAN) are very useful tools for system administrators for determining weak points in their system. having said this, i also believe that if these tools are put in the wrong hands (like a knife given to a pshyco killer) -- intents seem to be less academic than what it is actually used for. ;) enjoy! -- -=[mikhail]=- _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
