Hello fellow pluggers, Going straight to my problem, I need to run some programs automatically when my linux box boots up. What's the best way to approach this? To be more specific, i've got a java application that needs to be run on the system when it starts.
So far with what I did, the system did boot up and my application did run, but since the application doesn't give back the console to the system, other startup scripts (that should have run after my application) didn't run unless I terminate the program. The application just lets you see some logs on things he is doing on the system. Is there a good approach to make this work? Is there a way to run the program on a separate window (for example run it in tty6) when it starts? Thanks, Rikki _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
