Globe has this service called Text Connect for corp subscribers with at least PhP35,000 worth of monthly business with Globe. This means, at one extreme, 10 G-Max subscriptions worth PhP3,500 monthly. They'll give you software, W2K-only >:(, that will broadcast up to 10,000 messages monthly through the Internet and on to their SMSC. I think the 10K message-plan costs PhP8,000. OTOH, this could be overkill for Chris's needs, which aren't quite clear to us anyway <g>. > then you'll have to find or develop software capable of communicating > with those SMSC's, which communicate using odd protocols. See http://www.objectxp.com/ for one example. Uhmm, communications with CIMD servers is surprisingly easy, and the APIs are available to the public -- got ours from a Web site which I don't recall at the moment. And there *is* an open source solution, which we're using for Text-a-Doctor (Smart 237). Unfortunately, I forget the name at the moment, and I'm almost sure I'll remember it not long after I send off this message <g> Mabuhay. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
