i am using slackware 8.1 and was connecting to the internet right - the nameserver of the ISP was always set up correctly whenever i chose which connection i want to use via kppp.
but then when i ran the pppsetup utility which came with slackware 8.1, all of a sudden the resolv.conf file which used to be dynamic (or so i think) is now static and set to a nemserver of one of the ISPs i connect to. now when i connect to another isp, the applications that look into the /etc/resolv.conf file (like evolution) dont get the right nameserver, thus cease to function correctly. i dont quite understand how this came about, (maybe it had to do with my running the pppsetup utility) and am wondering if anybody has experienced the same problem, and how they worked around it somehow.
