I built linux-2.4.20, gcc-3.2.1, and glibc-2.3.1 on my AdmuLinux system. As long as LD_LIBRARY_PATH is set correctly to include even the standard directories /lib, /usr/lib, /usr/X11R6/lib, all the existing binaries that were built against glibc-2.x.y (older than 2.3.1) still work, except ldconfig. The command
ldconfig -v just shows the directories listed in /etc/ld.so.conf but does not show the shared libraries contained in these directories. Also /etc/ld.so.cache is not properly built. Does glibc-2.3.1 break ldconfig? Is there a fix? P~Manalastas _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
