Actually, your answer was correct, Rowel and mine. Your last comment was subtly sarcastic. It's as if you are spouting that your answer is the most correct answer. As for for using aliases as a bad idea, I agree with Rowel that it is a safety net. Me and my fellow sysadmins always put "cp -i" alias on any unix box we administer.
