yes.
and with respect to a question from aris, yes, i did do fdisk /mbr
in dos. had to do that because lilo couldn't delete the old FreeBSD
boot loader. so i had to blow it away with dos fdisk :).

there is no other primary partition. everything else is in extended.

no. i've dual booted w2k before too. must be something stupid
about this computer. i just looked at the partitions under linux
fdisk and it whines about inconsistencies, i think having to do
with where partitions start and end and it not liking those numbers.
i've forgotten just what the error is. i've temporarily given up on
this lilo problem for now. i'll revisit it when i can delete everything
on that box na lang. the problem probably has to do with the
inconsistencies in where it thinks partitions can start and end that
fdisk is whining about.
