I apologize for the misconception I may have caused. I always thought
that the keyboard that comes in most old IBM-clone PC is called a serial
keyboard (in contrast to the newer PS/2 version). Im referring to the
one connecting to the dedicated keyboard socket and not the one that
connects to the sockets answering to 'ttyS?'.

My idea (though I don't know if really doable) was to boot the P166 with
a floppy-based distro that can detect and bring-up the NIC and then use
ssh to connect to it from my duron machine. I know the idea has a lot of
flaws that I have not seen so I submitted it to the mailing list for
dissection. :)
