FAI (Fully Automatic Installation) for Debian provides a variety of methods for this type of scenario. [http://www.informatik.koeln.de/fai] >From the documentation: "FAI is a non-interactive system to install a Debian GNU/Linux operating system unattended on a single computer or a whole cluster. You can take one or more virgin PC's, turn on the power and after a few minutes Linux is installed, configured and running on the whole cluster, without any interaction necessary." It has many more features that I'm sure will be interesting to many on the list, not just you Anuerin. ;) Oh yeah, you can use either a boot floppy, CD-ROM boot or network boot. DHCP, BOOTP and PXE network boot methods are supported. I've been looking at this for a while now as a possible solution for mass-migration of our machines at work. But I really need to hunker down and plan for that. eric -- ___ _____________________________ eric pareja (xenos AT maharlika.upm.edu.ph) \e/ [ Philippine Linux Users' Group ] Linux User #8159 http://counter.li.org _v_ [ Python Power! ] [ Debian Rocks! ] [ Unwitty Saying Here! ] [] Software & \\\\/ Free the books! http://www.bookcrossing.com/referral/pusakat ] Freedom .\\/_// http://www.livejournal.com/users/pusakat | www.upm.edu.ph/~xenos _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
