after creating cache_dir directories (thru squid -z) do a "df -m" and look
for the "available" column.. the value there will determined the size of
your cache_dir on that particular partition... since you said that your
cache is on the /var/squid/cache path, make sure that /var/squid or
/var/squid/cache is on a separate partition and will not fall under /var
partition...
