anyone,

i dont know if this is unusual or misconfiguration but i have a linux box that can not resolve dns querries. all the stuff in the /etc/resolv.conf is in there, and i already tried running 'nslookup' and it displays some dns (mu.edu.ph) information except that it displays:

is the dns reachable to the host? can you ping it from the host? do you have acls on the dns?

...nslookup...

mu3

Server: w.x.y.z Address: w.x.y.z#53

** server can't find www: NXDOMAIN

...nslookup...

try to query an fqdn instead of just 'mu3' or 'www'

Where 'w.x.y.z' is our dns ip address. Please note that our dns is already serving other linux and win clients without problems. I believed this is beyond something, i mean configuration? I dont know. Please help. Your tip(s) and suggestion(s) are highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Regards, Howard.
