You might want to take a look into:

FreeS/WAN + X.509 patch

the X.509 patch is needed to allow FreeS/WAN to work w/ the native
Win2000/XP client

this links will help you install the X.509 patch and the configure ur
windows2000/xp clients... ssl encryption will be used...

i do have x509 patched in. but i don't intend to use certs, just PSK. see,
i already have the environment setup. and i've tried to setup my win2k
as a road warrior. what happens is that i do get a tunnel "up", but i can't
"ping" to the end point which is a client to my linux router.
i also tried setting up a subnet-to-subnet vpn accross my linux router and
win2k server machine. i get the same results/status: a tunnel is visible upon
running `ipsec look`, and an SA is reported by my win2k's ipsecmon
tool. but still, pinging from either endpoints is not successful.

but if i were to use another freeswan linux router, everything works just
fine.

(using certs yields to the same scenario on all setups described above)

do you have a true, working config that yields to a successful interop bet.
linux freeswan and win2k server?

TIA

btw, you might also want to take a look at poptop i think it more
appropriate for a Linux --> MS VPN setup...

(*we might even let you test our embedded linux router
on your local network)

kewl!
