there's a simple rule where you can reject mail with Mail from: the same 
as recipient.

as for "root" etc -- the system will not accept mails from a system which 
is bouncing mails. so once the "root" or whatever account fills up, the 
rationale is, there's no point receiving mail from someone who won't be 
able to read your reply.
