Well, I have installed it successfully and am able to navigate through a
console, but not their graphical interface. I 've bumped into a handful of
sites which were able to start the GUI, but it's just like running UNIX with
a clock and xterms.

There are actually "drivers" for some video cards, but since I am installing
to a notebook, some complications arise.

Well, I also have slackware installed in the same machine. Right now, I am
working through a small square area in the middle of the monitor for the
text console. I also still can't get the proper resolution settings in the
graphical interface since my notebook has an odd resolution of 1400x1050...
