Are the unstable versions any more easy to install that the stable?
I've been so frustrated with Debian and getting it installed, using
dselect and picking the right packages that I've about given up. I want
to run it (I run Xandros as a desktop and SuSE & Red Hat as servers, but
want to move on to raw Debian.

Debian's unstable tree contains the software that you'd expect to get
with a recent RedHat or Suse. They're just very conservative with their
stable tree.
