You are mistaken to think this has anything to do with opinions.  Telnet
was written for a prior world where traffic wasn't sniffed, networks
were small and mostly known, etc.  SSH is designed from the ground up to
be as secure as possible in a completely unknown environment.

An example of an opinion:

Red is a nicer color than blue.

An example of an indisputable fact:

SSH is as secure as possible, telnet is as insecure as possible.

Look, think of telnet as a horse.  200 years ago, you would have been
well off riding a horse into battle.  Nowadays, you'd be an idiot.  Some
guy in a tank would just shoot you for sport.  Now, you could argue that
a horse is a fine animal to ride into battle, people have done it for
ages, some still do, and that's your opinion and why doesn't anybody
respect it.

But you'd be a fool.  You need your own tank, and SSH is a tank.
