In 1999 it was group of JR Contreras and Miguel Paraz (both of IPhil and PSINet) who
organized.

In 2000, in Cebu, it was between Comddap and JR Contreras/Migs Paraz.

Doing it alone (i.e. PLUG) is tough, logistics and money would be a big problem.

What if we do it with PCS? Comddap and PCS have a working arrangement that Comddap
handles the exhibit and PCS the seminars. It would be possible to insert an open
source track during PCS Synchronicity events. The Internet security group worked with
PCS and so a security track was included in the Synchronicity event held during
Comddap Expo Iloilo and Manila in 2003.

Next Comddap/PCS event is scheduled for Baguio on February 2004. I can get the ball
rolling if there is enough interest from PLUG to run an open source track.

Future schedule of Comddap/PCS events will be Cebu in June and Manila in October 2004.

Regards,

Ricardo B. Gonzalez
