If you still have the makefile and the source, check if you can do a 'make
clean'. You could download the source again if you need to. Not all makefiles
have that rule though (hmf), and sometimes you'll have to check if it does
the right things.

You mean the actual binaries, libraries, and "installed" files? 'locate'
should work. If it's in path, 'whereis' works nicely too. It can "locate the
binary, source, and manual page files for a command", so once you find those,
you can just remove the respective files/directories.

Also, a good bet is to look in /usr, particularly /usr/share and /usr/local.
Just do something 'find . -name foo', replacing foo with your expected
pattern. If you still can't find it... hmmm... I guess a 'find' on / would
ultimately locate the files . ^_^ (By the way, it was a particularly nice
experience for me to discover 'find' and read its man pages. Use it with a
pattern tool like 'grep' and it's all you'll ever need for searching. Gotta
love GNU. ^_^)

Enjoy.
