i think it would be a lot easier to locate the installed files by just
reading the MAKEFILE.

better yet, reconfigure/recompile the source and install it on a temp
directory by issuing the command:

        shell> ./configure --prefix=/dummy
        shell> make; make install


this will install all the files on the directory "/dummy". from there you can view all the files that have been installed and you'll have a reference of what and where to delete.

ex.

        /dummy
        `----------> /etc
                     `---------->/samba
                                  `---------> smb.conf       
        `----------> /lib    
        `----------> /usr
