Ah, I ran into something very interesting indeed while poking around the
Net one day.  It appears there IS a Free software virus scanner for
Squid called squid-vscan available here:

http://www.openantivirus.org/projects.php

Seems it's a patch to Squid 2.3 to allow scanning of all traffic passing
through the proxy.
