Red Hat uses Fedora to test new packages, but I don't think it's exactly
the test version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, since that changes slowly.
Fedora changes fast - here's the schedule:

Fedora Core 2 Test 1 on Feb 2... kernel 2.6 :)

I guess RH Ent is based on the 7.x version which is where whitebox comes in. Fedora is the unsupporeted workstation version aka redhat 9. in my opinion if you want a really stable server, use debian (debian even has a backported 2.6 kernel). then for workstations you can use fedora or gentoo. The reason i say for server is debian, it doesnt have too many version changes which is good for servers whereas if you use fedora for your server you will sure have to upgrade when the core 2, etc comes in. but the advantage of fedora is having most of the latest package but then again if you want bleeding edge you can use debian sid/sarge or gentoo, both of them have a social contract which meant free forever.

Gentoo social contract
