Yes, actually this was the first thing I tried. It didn't seem to give the desired effect though (using the "time" command, it was quite obvious that it was still caching). So after reading a bit more, I assumed that "attribute caching" was different than total file caching. However I do get these warnings as a result of not compiling NFSv3 support in the kernel whenever I mount: NFS:NFSv3 not supported nfs warning: mount version older than kernel So I guess I'll try to experiment "noac" again with NFSv3 support compiled in and see if it can totally nullify local caching of file objects. > >> I plan to do more research on this, but I would highly >> appreciate any additional insights. Thanks for the insight! I guess I could create my file pool in windows boxes and access them through samba. The only problem with this in my experiment though, is that the 2 servers give an idea of the total wifi connection strength by cat'ing /proc/net/wireless and sending the value to the client. I still have to find out how to do that in windows. :) ============================= The statement below is false The statement above is true ============================= -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
