$39 is pretty good if you can get all of those required programs
to work.

i prefer win4lin. win95/98/ME runs under linux and as long as your
programs run in win95/98/ME, then you're fine. if your programs
require Win2K or XP, then win4lin doesn't help you.

it's close to $100 now though. but it's worth the money if you
just must run windows programs.

like migs, i haven't tried any Wine version in a while, i'm waiting
for it all to get easier to use and to support the things i use (chikka :).

vmware is good. better than win4lin in that it'll run XP, 2K, etc. but
it needs more hardware than you've got. you want a P-4 with 512MB
to run it well, and even then, when i tried it it was a little sluggish.

first figure out how you're going to run your windows apps. have you
decided on CrossOver Office? if yes, then i think it's bundled with one
or another of these distributions *if* you buy the official CD. i suppose
there are pirate CDs that have the official payware distribution on
them, but I'd encourage you to get your company to pay for the
software instead of finding some free copy somewhere and using
that despite licensing issues.
