Hi guys. Sorry for asking this pathetic question: What’s the
best Linux distro for a Linux advocate working in a
work environment characterized by Windows? I need to use Microsoft Word to edit
the works of my colleagues. I need to use Microsoft Access since that database
was decided by my company to be our official software. I need to use Adobe Pagemaker to produce newsletters for my company. I tried to use Fedora Core 2 but it failed my expectations.
In fact, Red Hat 9 seemed better in many respects. Still, both cannot really
co-exist with Windows, since you have to buy Crossover Office for 39 US
dollars. By the way, my laptop is Twinhead,
256MB memory, Pentium II. Which is better: Xandros, Linspire or Suse? Are there
available CDs for latest version of any of these? Don’t worry, pals. While using Windows on Linux,
I’ll try to convince my office mates to try Linux. Dong B. Calmada |
