I'm not familiar with Wine-based solutions, but if your coworkers are running Windows, I would suggest using rdesktop to connect to their PC's.
Why do you consider Fedora Core 2 to be inferior to Red Hat 9? ----- Original Message ----- From: Dong Calmada <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tue, 22 Jun 2004 18:28:05 +0800 Subject: [plug] What's the best Linux distro for Windows apps? To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hi guys. Sorry for asking this pathetic question: What's the best Linux distro for a Linux advocate working in a work environment characterized by Windows? I need to use Microsoft Word to edit the works of my colleagues. I need to use Microsoft Access since that database was decided by my company to be our official software. I need to use Adobe Pagemaker to produce newsletters for my company. I tried to use Fedora Core 2 but it failed my expectations. In fact, Red Hat 9 seemed better in many respects. Still, both cannot really co-exist with Windows, since you have to buy Crossover Office for 39 US dollars. -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
