Probably. But not always. *good* M$ apps? I hear only 'cmd',
'notepad', 'telnet', 'ping', 'ftp' and the rest of basic utils make
the cut. Whilst its true that WinXP, IE and Outlook have definitely
improved due to the 'threat', they're still a long way to go before
they get my confidence. I've grown up from several Windows kiosk LANs,
and even up to now most of those still end up installing and
reinstalling... and as for server env? Who gives a thought about it,
especially with the new vulnerabilities cropping up in IIS?

Its not really hard to see the *real* situation: that windoze and the
rest of those proprietary apps *are* the real threat to free software,
Linux included. While you guys may argue about compromise, there's one
thing you have to put in mind as you use free software: that *YOU* are
responsible for keeping free software _free_. You may not think about
that in the short term, but when you do (and I hope you're not too old
by then) don't regret it.

Kudos to M$, btw, for making your apps such beautiful Grendels.

On this I agree. Just drop by your local Internet cafe for an
example. Of course, if it ain't complaints about popups or crashes
then it would be BSODs, but kudos to WinXP for making that rare ;)
Still, that's not so convincing for me...

Oh ok. Really that simple. I was only talking about BSODs, not windoze
boxen turning into C4s (if that were the case, then Al-Quaeda should
really invest in that ;) My point in saying that is: it is really easy
to crash a windoze system (especially if it's in a net) than to crash
a Linux/BSD/GNU boxen (especially if it has firewalls and cloaking
stuff loaded ;)

About M$ being really a bully, it's because they need to. The nice
article at Seattle Weekly tells us so. And the worst part is: we can't
really blame them.

For to much is given, much is expected.

Cheers,
Zakame
