I am not familiar with X-Lite but I have used SJphone and Kphone on Linux. Whenever I start them from the console they spew out a lot of helpful messages. You might want to try them out also. BTW, is your problem related to authentication? Meaning your client can not register or does it seem to register but it can't dial or be called by anybody? It would be interesting to know what's causing your problem.
