It would have been helpful if you have posted the outputs of `dpkg -l gnucash' and `dpkg -l *guile*' and possibly an `strace /usr/bin/gnucash' so we could get a good idea of what's really going on. However, my best guess is that you need to update your sources.list so you can get the updates on guile-1.6 and the rest that gnucash needs... -- ZAK B.
