I abandoned WindowsXP a long time ago.
My brother, without a single geek chromosome, uses Windows 10.
His computer is emitting beeps at times other than POST.
I sent him what I thought would be useful links [including generic links
for a Windows user to determine what BIOS their computer had].
In a follow-up phone call I discovered he was using Windows10.
I also discovered that we speak different "languages".
I suspect my underlying question is "How can a reasonably competent
Linux user communicate with a mass market Windows user?"
Please:
1. tell me "Where to go" ;/ <*LOL*>
2. what research should I be doing?
*IOW* How can I do for my brother what many have done for me *??????*
TIA
