I thought you were running Slackware 14.2,
You're right.
the link you posted says 14.1. That version of virtualbox is also a bit older, looks like they have moved to 5.x. I've also never used pkgs.org. I haven't actually heard of anyone who does so I've never really looked at them. Before getting fancy with virtualbox, I suggest learning a little bit more about package management in Slackware. The process in Ubuntu was exactly the same, but now you get to do the magic yourself :) Take a look at http://slackbuilds.org/
Okay. Baby steps.
This is where a lot of us install our packages from. We run SlackBuild scripts to automate the package creation process. VirtualBox is a beefy application with lots of moving parts, so I suggest starting simple with a smaller program, and scale up from there. Chances are you don't have all the dependencies for VirtualBox, so take a look at the SlackBuilds page, and some of their howto's for a better understanding of what you need to have installed, and how. You may want to walk through one of the smaller SlackBuild scripts to get used to the process. Later tonight I might be able to post a step-by-step for getting something like VirtualBox installed on Slackware.
