I was a Debian user for a long time, since before version 1.0. I started using Ubuntu on the desktop, initially when setting up machines for others, because it was pretty and those users felt comfortable with it, and because it cut down on maintenance. Eventually, I got seduced by the "prettiness" and the "just workingness". For development boxes, I've been using Arch, just because it stays up to date on package versions, unlike Debian for sure, which tends to just patch old versions forever. Fwiw, your critique of Ubuntu does not spark any feelings of recognition. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
