Trying to shrink large size pdf page to letter size sometimes fails, telling
me, "The call to 'pdflatex' resulted in an error." I use the --no-tidy error
to produce an log file, but it makes no sense to me.
The landscape oriented file is 792 x 1224 points and I want to use pdfjam to
fit it on a letter size page: 792 x 612.
The command output is:
$ pdfjam --output slide.pdf --paper letter sw-2.pdf
----
pdfjam: This is pdfjam version 2.08.

## From /etc/pdfjam.conf:

tempfileDir='/var/tmp'
tidy='true'
keepinfo='false'
checkfiles='false'
paper='letterpaper'
outFile="$pwd"
suffix='pdfjam'
landscape='false'
twoside='false'
preamble=''
pdfjam: Effective call for this run of pdfjam:
/usr/bin/pdfjam --output 'slide.pdf' --paper letter -- sw-2.pdf -
pdfjam: Calling pdflatex...
pdfjam: FAILED.
The call to 'pdflatex' resulted in an error.
If '--no-tidy' was used, you can examine the
log file at
/var/tmp/pdfjam-cgpctJ/a.log
to try to diagnose the problem.
pdfjam ERROR: Output file not written
The a.log output is 11.1 K and can be sent off the list.

Rich
