I think that you are complicating it. It makes sense to follow working path/road taken by others.
Slides and notes problem is solved by standard presentation software such as libreoffice impress - you have presentation slides and associated presenter notes together. You present the slides to an audience, while you are the only person to see the notes. It handles advancing slides and notes together as well as printout. If you think about using wacom as an input device for presentation whiteboard - this is definitely not as easy as it seems. There is delivery logistics - audience sees slides and making them switching back and forth to/from whiteboard is distraction - 20% audience needs help, eating 80% of your presentation time. To be able to write and draw legibly on a tablet requires months of practice - literally. I have tablet and use it interactively only in real emergencies. It does not seem to save much time for technical drawings either. I use it mostly as an ergo device instead of mouse when my hands hurt. I suggest to get used or borrow wacom tablet first to try if it works for you.
