>It's not going to be possible to block all VPNs. I've been using a VPN for several years now, currently Mullvad (Stockholm based). I'm curious about the efficacy of various VPN services. I selected Mullvad (and PIA previously) based on how badly they cut my gigabit access speed. In that respect most give you about 10% of what our ISP provides, if you're lucky. But that was the only way I had to shop for a VPN. I have no idea how good they are at all the many other issues you brought up. I do know that web sites think I am in the city where I am connected to one of the servers, Houston at the moment. I know that because, e.g., I tried to access safeway.com while connected to Mullvad in Stockholm, which rudely told me that I was not in the US, so I was denied access because I was clearly a terrorist or other evildoer. It would be nice if VPN services advertised how effectively they stop others from finding out who and where you really are.
