When I was 9 yrs old I had the idea that car brake lights should go brighter when you press down hard on them. The idea came when I was riding in a car with someone and they almost rear ended someone who slammed on their brakes.
I had long since forgotten that idea until about 16 years later when BMW came out with this feature on their vehicles. "Emergency stop lights".
