It's nice to hear that somebody else sorts their mp3s that way too. But I take it one step further and sort artists into A-Z directories (and a 0 directory for bands that start with numbers, like 10,000 Maniacs or 3 Doors Down). The only library I've ever seen that I really liked was in Winamp (/me is also shamed), but it was always just a little unstable... at least for a collection my size. I guess I bought too many CDs in my youth. And I still buy too many. But sorting by directory was always my favorite. I haven't ripped anything since finally switching completely to Linux, and I think it's time to get my library into flac format. I have no idea what kinds of rippers and encoders are out there for Linux though, except for Grip, which I used to use extensively. I'd like to script something though. Any suggestions for command-line rippers and encoders? -- Joseph http://blog.josephhall.com/ /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
