Right. I'm quite behind the times, since I rarely use the web interface for gmail! As I mentioned on another thread, GMail has some real warts when it comes to handling lists. But it beats MSN which doesn't offer imap or pop at all. And Gmail is only usable with an IMAP client, in my opinion, in the context of mailing lists or conversations with multiple people on the same thread. <rant> My latest complaint with GMail is that their conversations view is only really good for brief 2-4 message conversations between friends. It absolutely sucks for mailing lists. Completely breaks the threaded nature of a real mailing list conversation. Turns what used to be a nicely nested, easy-to-follow set of posts into a web forum, essentially, which is a nasty interface for long conversations. Nothing sucks more than reading a forum where an interesting topic has like 2000 messages on it, but not threaded at all. Impossible to really jump back and learn about the history of the discussion without practically reading all the posts. Horrid, horrid interface (the forums I mean). Forums suck badly. And Gmail has completely emulated it. Probably works for most people that just have a back and forth, but breaks under conditions as I have mentioned. </rant> /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
