A little clarification, if you don't mind:

I'm assuming you're running vgcreate one one of the two nodes in the
cluster, not the other node? Your referring to the other nodes
(plural) that can't see it confuses me. Can you give more detail as to
your configuration?

We use GFS with a SAN in our configuration, and I can't say a whole
lot of people here are happy with it. Have you looked at other
options? Right now the favorite alternatives that we're considering
are MooseFS and Gluster. I'm hoping we decide to go with Moose.
