Someone robbed our car in Christmas the same way. We had some pictures wrapped up for grandparents, some spare change, and misc junk mail that they took. We followed a trail of the wrappers and papers they discarded pretty much right up to where they were hiding. And it was stolen in the middle of the day too! The carved replacement were stabbed in a 15 minute window toward the end of the trick or treating. I suppose someone didn't like what we were handing out, but most kids thought glow in the dark bugs and vampire teeth was pretty cool.
