Check out the ISY994i http://www.universal-devices.com/

I don't think there is a single solution out there for everything
(yet). Right now the best you can get is integrating various systems
together.

>From my efforts dipping a toe into this world, there are the cloud
based solutions and then there are a few stand alone solutions. Cloud
based can be risky. I just read an article about Nest buying up a
competitor for its employees. They reassigned the employees to a Nest
project and then did an end-of-life notice on the purchased-company's
product with an end date 1 day after the warranty expiration. So,
people have $300 bricks because it was a cloud based home automation
system.

The ISY994i is a very flexible system. It does Insteon and they're
expanding Z-wave support (multi-channel is in public alpha/beta).
They have also rolled out new tools (in alpha) for bridging into any
other systems via their polyglot tool (that runs along side the
ISY994i on a Rpi). It isn't a shiny product but it is a very capable
with real customization on a stand alone device. Some of the things
the people on the forum are doing are impressive. A lot of
integrators use ISY for their customers and then support the customers
home automation remotely.

It's a small company that's been around quite awhile with the owner
actually responding to questions on the user forum. Browse the user
forum and you'll see a lot discussions on the topics you are
interested in and how it relates to ISY. ISY has its weaknesses but
the support is fantastic and you'll see requests for features on the
forum that actually get implemented and get responded to by staff.
