I've got a setup with an Antec Aria case, so I'm thinking I can possibly boot that up using the built-in card reader. Any idea how much space this would take up when extracted to a flash card? I have a 128M on hand, but I can pick up a new card without too much trouble.

I just finished a scan on a CF only (no hd) machine: Pentium 200, 64MB RAM, SlimCD installed on 256MB CF (frugal install, 2x128MB partitions), music collection (about 6300 songs) on a read-only mounted external hd using firewire.

128M CF for a server only machine is plenty. Removing FireFox and java (if you don't want to run softsqueeze on the same machine) will easily fit in 80-90MB, leaving another 30MB for settings, slimserversql.db etc.

But 64MB RAM definitely is not enough. What shall I say - music is still playing. But my bash was killed lack of available ram. I can't access the machine any more :-).

I'll have to rename the SlimCD as it makes much more sense when installed... It's quite fun to have a "complete" system without a moving part!
