I looked through the plugins page and couldn't find what I was looking for, so I figured I'd ask here.
I am a long-time owner of an empeg car audio player, and recently purchased a Squeezebox3 for my home. One thing that the empeg software has that I can't seem to find for the Squeezebox is the ability to "tweak" the current playlist based on the song currently playing. Here's how it works. Say you're listening to a random shuffle of your music, and you hear a song from an artist you want to hear more of. Instead of having to un-shuffle your mix, or browse by artist, you hit a button on the remote (say, one of the numbered buttons) and the current playlist is modified so that the next song is another song from that artist. The empeg lets you do the same thing with the genre, year, and album fields, so you can get another song from the same year, etc. without having to replace the current playlist or perform a manual search. So, I didn't see this anywhere in the stock Squeezebox software, nor was I able to find any plugins to allow this. Assuming there are no plugins already available to support this, is the plugin API rich enough that I could take a stab at developing it? Are there calls to allow modification of the current playlist, searching for songs in the current playlist by fields, etc?
