I have written a quick hack to test out the support of "start time" by the BBC (and other RealAudio stations). Think of it as a working prototype and feedback will help develop a proper implementation.
All the usual disclaimers apply - no guranatees, try it out at your risk. I have only tested it out on Linux at the moment. As I see it being able to skip ahead in some program is better than not being able to do it at all. The hack is an additional Menu "Start Time" which allows the user to set a start time - i.e start playing next program xx hrs & yy Mins from the start. The start time is cleared after a program is played. Where possible the start time will be applied but for non Real streams and stream where the playlist has multiple URLs it will not take effect. If the Start time is cleared (i.e. 00:00:00 is selected) then no new code will be executed and AlienBBC will behave as standard. I have tested it out on a variety of BBC programs and it seems to work but more tests are necessary. Installation There are 3 files - a modified AlienBBC 1.00 Plugin.pm and two other files AlienStartTimeMneu.pm and AliemStartTimeitem.pm. To install save your existing Plugin.pm and replace with the supplied one. Install the two other files inthe Plgins/Alien directory and restart Slimsever. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: StartTime.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=722| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20005 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
