OK, just answered my own question, but I'll post the answer for anyone following behind ... it was user error ... you have to get the "double tap" just right to open these items up (I've just had to calibrate myself!).
So, next question then... I have Various Artists working on slimserver normally, but this seems to be ignored by the Slimremote application - I am seeing ALL the artists listed, not the reduced set I get when viewing Artists in slimserver. Intentional?
