At startup the AlienBBC plugin scans the AlienAddon directory for suitable additional menus. IIRC the enabled/disabled then controls which ones are enabled - so it looks like the directory scan is failing or can't read the contents.
1. Check protection and ownership so that all files & directories within Alien directory are the same as the rest of slimserver. 2.
