The Server Setting/filetypes RTSP control whether data is converted to
WAV, FLAC or MP3. If all 3 are enabled then SS will try for FLAC.

It's been years since I did Unix app tuning. Can you find out if
Mplayer is being swapped out ?

A suggestion for slimserver-convert.conf

With 1.0pre8, there is better control shutting down slimserver. I
think this will work and not leave zombies. It also means one less
shell process.
Current content fragment in slimserver-convert.conf

Code:
--------------------

[mplayer.sh] -really-quiet -vc null -vo null -bandwidth 10000000 -cache
128 -af volume=0,resample=44100:0:1,channels=2 -ao
pcm:nowaveheader:file=/dev/fd/3 $FILE$

--------------------

Change as follows: add the redirection after $FILE$ and before the "|"
on the 3 RTSP lines, change to use mplayer directly and change fd/3 to
fd/4.

Code:
--------------------

[mplayer] -really-quiet -vc null -vo null -bandwidth 10000000 -cache
128 -af volume=0,resample=44100:0:1,channels=2 -ao
pcm:nowaveheader:file=/dev/fd/4 $FILE$ 4>&1 1>/dev/null

--------------------

If you are still interested in cache setting - the cache 128 sets it
to 128Kbytes but only about 15% is actually used.
